Step-by-Step Pattern:

Sole (Make 2)

Ch 9.

Round 1: Sc in second ch from hook, 2 sc in next ch, sc in next ch, hdc in next 2 ch, dc in next 2 ch, 7 dc in last ch; continue working on the opposite side of the foundation chain, dc in next 2 ch, hdc in next 2 ch, sc in next ch, 2 sc in next ch; join with slip st in first sc – 22 sts.

Round 2: Ch 2 (counts as first st), [2 hdc in next sc] 3 times, hdc in next 4 sts, [2 hdc in next dc] 3 times, 3 hdc in next dc, [2 hdc in next dc] 3 times, hdc in next 4 sts, [2 hdc in next sc] 3 times; join with slip st in ch-2 – 36 sts.

Fasten off.

Upper (Make 2)

Ch 24, join with slip st in first ch to form a ring (make sure not to twist).
